Theda Dawson, Director of Women's Ministries

Self-description: wife of a very wise and great husband, mother of four beautiful young women and grandma to the best five grandchildren ever. I am cautious and don’t often plunge ahead. Whenever I do I make a mess of things. I have had to learn to rein myself in. my biggest desire if to make a difference.
Being the Director of Women’s Ministries means I get to: have lots of fun working with all the lovely ladies in the church. I hope to make lots of friends and use the lessons the Lord teaches me to pass on to all of them and see a church full of spiritually mature women.
Your life before TCOV: We were missionaries in Venezuela where my hubby, Steve, grew up. We lived in a village where Yanomamo Indians live. Steve traveled the rivers reaching out to other villages where there are no missionaries. Until our four girls were grown we home schooled.
You knew there was no turning back when: God gave me a passion for working with other women. It burned in my heart and I knew that one day He would give me a ministry. First He showed me to follow and work wherever He put me. Sometimes I fought it but He kept bringing me back to that lesson. I just pray that He uses me in a great way to reach the women of the Valley.
You come to work everyday because: It is exciting to be involved in the work the Lord is doing. I feel so privileged whenever He gives me something He wants done. I often feel awed by the fact that He would deem me worthy of being the instrument He uses.
You're energized by: Discovering a new Biblical truth and realizing how it is at work in my life. Then seeing others ‘get it’ too.
You cringe when you see Christians: Not living the ‘life’ completely. When they feel that some worldly things are ‘ok’. And mostly when they don’t realize that spiritual warfare is real and that we have an enemy we don’t need to play around with.
